Leon Morelli (pictured right), Chairman of Brecon Pharmaceuticals from 1991 until 2006 unveils a plaque to officially open Brecon's newest production facility. He was joined by Brecon's President & Managing Director, John Bath (pictured left).

Brecon Pharmaceuticals is a leading provider of outsourced packaging, clinical trials and analytical services to the pharmaceutical industry and the new facility, which effectively doubles the company's footprint on its Hay-on-Wye site, provides state-of-the-art production and warehousing capability specially designed to meet the stringent standards required by the pharmaceutical industry.

In an address to staff, President & Managing Director, John Bath, said it was fitting indeed that there should be a permanent tribute to Leon Morelli's Chairmanship. "We have a lot to thank Leon for. Brecon was a tiny company in Forest Road, Hay-on-Wye, when Leon and his colleagues acquired it. Under his stewardship, the company expanded into its new premises in Brecon Road and has experienced phenomenal growth, increasing the number of jobs in the local area by a factor of ten."

Before unveiling the plaque, Mr Morelli said "I am delighted to have been given this opportunity, marking as it does fifteen very memorable years at Brecon. The company has a very bright future, and this new facility is absolutely in keeping with the world-class standards Brecon's customers have come to accept."

Brecon Pharmaceuticals is now part of US company, AmerisourceBergen, one of the world's largest pharmaceutical services companies serving the United States, Canada, and selected global markets.
