Brecon Appoints Quality Manager

Brecon Pharmaceuticals Ltd has appointed Dr Karl Fry, MRSC, C.Chem as Manager of Quality Services. He joins from Penn Pharmaceutical Services Ltd where he held posts as Head of Quality Assurance and Manager of the Research and Development laboratory.



Brecon Pharmaceuticals’ appointment of Dr Karl Fry as Manager of Quality Services means the company now has access to five QPs.

Karl has a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Swansea and is also a Qualified Person under the permanent provisions.

"This is a new, senior post which further enhances our commitment to quality as we continue our growth strategy," says Mike Parker, QA & Technical Director. "Karl’s appointment also raises the number of QPs we can call upon to five, which we believe is the highest ratio in the pharmaceutical contracting industry. This is particularly relevant given the new Directive 2001/20/EC which will which will make QP release of clinical trials mandatory for both EC and non-EC sponsors."

Commenting on his appointment, Karl Fry said: “It is an exciting new challenge to join Brecon Pharmaceuticals which already has such an excellent reputation in the industry.
