Brecon Pharmaceuticals, the specialist provider of commercial packaging services and Clinical Trial supplies for the pharmaceutical industry, has appointed Stephen Kemp as business development director.
Mr Kemp, 37, joins Brecon from PCI (Unipack) Services, a well-known name in pharmaceutical manufacturing, assembly and contract packing, analytical, stability and clinical trials. For the past five years he was Director of Commercial Services and was also instrumental in PCI Services’ recent acquisition of AstraZeneca’s packaging facility in Corby. He therefore brings considerable and relevant experience to his new role at Brecon.
"Brecon has some of the best facilities in the industry and is held in very high regard by its customers in the UK and overseas," says Mr Kemp. "There has never been a better time for the outsourcing sector, as many of the research-based pharmaceutical companies are focusing on their core competencies of drug development and marketing. They are now more willing than ever to entrust their packaging operations to companies such as Brecon, which can demonstrate real expertise in both contract packaging and the provision of Clinical Trials supplies. My objective is to identify and capitalise on these opportunities. Brecon has a dedicated and highly-trained team and there is an obvious commitment to succeed at all levels of the company."
"We are delighted to welcome Stephen on board," says Brecon Managing Director Andrew Billington. "His track record in our industry is impeccable and it is indicative of Brecon’s increasing stature that we are able to attract staff of this calibre. I am sure that he will contribute significantly to our continuing growth."
